Lions and Tigers and Wet Dogs! Oh My!

8 Aug

Jason and I both had the day off on Friday, and we wound up having a fabulous day. First on the docket: Thea’s first trip to the doggie spa!

I hate this 😦

Super-duper dog washers (and no, we just happened to given smocks that were pink and green 🙂 )

Madison!!

After Thea was all clean, Jason and I headed up to Madison. Our main mission was making a stop at Archiver’s – a supply run for my Yosmite scrapbook. Once we were done, I suggested we do something else – we had traveled all that way, might as well make the most of it.

Next stop: the zoo!

Friday Fish Fry

I suggested The Old Fashioned for our Friday fish fry. I had been there once with my friends Ryan and Shaun this past winter and have been meaning to take Jason there ever since. This seemed like the perfect occasion.

August Already!?

1 Aug

I know I’ve been saying this the last couple of summers, but this summer went by incredibly fast. Where did it all go??

Things at work are going to start moving at warp speed now that it’s August. My co-workers and I will be in full on prep mode for the upcoming school year.

I want to make the most of August to be in the best place possible come September. Therefore, my main focus this month is on improving my overall health – important for both work and home.

I’ve been working towards taking on David Kirsch’s Ultimate New York Body Plan, and this should be my last week of the plan’s prep program.

I don’t want to obsess over my body any longer. I want to be in a good place physically. I want to feel amazing inside and out.

For the next month, I plan on chronicling my progress in much more detail. I want to do this to keep myself on track and accountable. I hope you take something from my journey as well 🙂 .

Friday’s Fish Fry

Jason and I returned to the Moose Creek Bar & Grille on Friday for fish fry. I was naughty and went with the fried cod – it’s just so good!

My yummy food…minus one piece of fish already.

Friday Fish Fry is not necessarily the healthiest Wisconsin tradition. Hopefully, I’ll be able to show you how it can be made a little healthier 🙂 .

Before we headed out for dinner, we made a quick stop at the library. We had some books to drop off and Jason wanted to take a look at the woodworking magazines. We’re starting to do some homework for the future…

Another Project

On a different note, I haven’t posted any photos of my scrapbooking or other paper craft projects in a while. My mom and I spent Saturday celebrating the upcoming wedding of my childhood buddy, Brian, at a shower for his beautiful fiance Danielle. I made a card for the occasion.

The weekend is quickly coming to an end 😦 . What a better way to end it than by watching the last few episodes of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Yes, I love the Real Housewives series…and I’m not afraid to admit it 🙂 .

Have a fabulous week!!

Bye-Bye Backyard

23 Jul

The weather in Wisconsin was crazy last night. The initial line that came through our area and spawned the possible tornadoes didn’t do much to our neighborhood. The second batch that rolled through just as we were going to bed however…INSANE!

It absolutely poured, which means bye-bye backyard.

There’s still a possibility of more rain tonight. Let’s hope we don’t wake up to our chairs floating down the creek.

Friday Fish Fry

In keeping with our new routine, Jason and I headed out for Friday fish fry. Once again, we drove to Elkhorn, but this time we went to a new place – Fiddlesticks Cafe.

The inside was cute, and they had a nice, simple menu. I splurged tonight and got the fried cod. It wasn’t bad, but nothing to rave about.

Since we were already halfway to Lake Geneva, we figured it only made sense to go get a little treat 🙂 .

The sky on the way home was beautiful. Clouds from some storms to the south combined with the sunset. Perfect end to a perfect evening!
